Spray tans use an active ingredient called DHA (dihydroxyacetone), a naturally derived sugar that reacts with amino acids on the outermost layer of your skin.

The tan begins developing within a few hours and reaches its final colour within 8–24 hours depending on the formula. Because it only affects the surface layer of your skin, your glow fades gradually as your skin naturally sheds.

The colour you see immediately after your appointment is the temporary guide colour — not your final tan. Your actual tan reveals itself after your first shower and continues developing over the next 24 hours.

No. Orange or overly warm results can happen when a formula isn't suited to the skin or when development time isn't followed correctly.

Our formulas are designed to be low odour. Any faint scent can occur naturally during the DHA development process and should disappear after your first proper shower.

The night before: Exfoliate your whole body, paying extra attention to elbows, knees, ankles and feet. Avoid oily scrubs.

At least 24 hours before: Shave or wax.

4–5 hours before: Shower with mild shower gel.

After showering: Avoid deodorant, moisturiser, makeup, perfume and body oils.

At your appointment: Arrive with clean, dry skin and remove jewellery.

We provide disposable underwear, a hairnet and sticky feet. You are also welcome to wear your own dark underwear, bikini or shorts.

After your appointment, wear loose, dark clothing until your first shower.

We recommend booking your tan 1–2 days before your event so the colour has time to fully develop and settle.

For weddings and major events, we recommend a trial tan 2–3 weeks beforehand.

Yes. Ideally shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment so your skin has time to settle.

For laser hair removal, allow at least 24–48 hours before your spray tan.

What washes away is the temporary guide colour. Your DHA tan continues developing underneath and can deepen for up to 24 hours after your first shower.

Judge your final colour the following day rather than immediately after rinsing.

For your first shower, use lukewarm water and avoid soap where possible. Gently rinse away the guide colour and pat your skin dry.

After that, moisturise daily with an oil-free body lotion.

Avoid hot baths, long showers, chlorinated pools and harsh exfoliation where possible.

Before your first shower, the temporary guide colour may transfer onto light fabrics, which is why we recommend loose, dark clothing.

After your first rinse, transfer should be significantly reduced.

Avoid intense exercise and sweating until your tan has fully developed and you have completed your first shower.

We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before swimming.

After swimming, rinse with fresh water, pat dry and moisturise with an oil-free lotion.

Once your tan begins fading, you can soak in warm water and gently exfoliate using an exfoliating mitt.

Body oils can also help loosen remaining colour before exfoliation.
